Apple Butter (Makes 4 Pints)
6 Lbs Apples ~ 2 Cups Water
3 Cups Sugar ~ 2 Cups Splenda
2 tsp Cinnamon ~ 1/2 tsp Cloves
2 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
Wash well, and add whole apples and water to pressure cooker and pressure on high for 15 minutes, following manufacturer's instructions. Press apples through colander, or sieve to remove core, seeds, and peel. Combine apples, spices, sugar, and Splenda. Pour into a 9" x 13" glass baking dish, and bake at 300 degrees for approximately 2 hours, until thickened, stirring every 20 minutes. Ladle into jars, and seal in a water bath for 10 minutes. ENJOY!

First off: Clap Clap Clap Standing ovation for your handsome hubby Wayne. Kudos to him for making Apple butter with you. I love it when a guy knows his way around the kitchen my hubby loves to cook and even does dishes. I love, love apple butter and it was so interesting to watch you make it. Sure could tell Wayne was enjoying it on his biscuit looked very yummy!!
ReplyDeleteYour Apple Butter looked so good, am going to have to try this, we also have apple trees in our yard. I just wanted to say, when you are pushing those apples through your colander a food mill would be so much faster. We use a food mill and it takes just the apple pulp and not the seeds or pealing...Just a thought for you... Could you cook the apples in a crock pot?? Would also be easier. Again just a thought. Thanks again for the recipe and great to see Wayne..
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious Mary!I love apple butter, I will make some this Fall! Last Fall I made Pumpkin Butter and it was so yummy, like pumpkin pie filling! I have a recipe for refrigerator pickles on my blog that are really good! You should try it if you like pickles. Thank you for sharing your recipe!
