I would love to win that cartridge! And I have a question...It is just a curiosity question that I wonder about all beautiful handmade cards. What do you put on the back of your cards? Do you have a stamp or something stating it is made by you? I want a unique identifier for my cards so for now I simply sign them on the back lower corner. As for my question, you often chalk around the ends of your cards to give them detail, what type or brand of chalk do you use? My other question is why do you chose to chalk around some cards and ink around others? What is the different effects you are wanting to create? I assume the chalk is softer? Thanks

Hi Mary-My question is about fit to length on the expression. Do we use the size dial when using fit to length? Hi Mary. Like everyone else who is leaving a comment, I would like to win. But winning isn't the only reason I'm drawn to leaving a comment today. I'll tell you why ... I'm going to try and not make it too long and hope you don't mind if it does, but I've got to tell. (I apologize in advance. lol)
I'm a crafter. Until now mainly things dealing with fabric, mostly dolls and quilts. A few years ago, I tried scrapbooking but it didn't take, but found I loved making cards. Last year, hard as I tried not to, I purchased the Cricut Expression (that's its own story, lol). It stayed in the box for a couple of months.
When I realized the time had passed to return it, I figured I'd better begin searching the internet for inspiration to use it. Among the blogs I found with instruction / inspiration was yours. I was only able to view your videos for a short while because my computer crashed. And, by the time I was able to get another I honesly couldn't remember the web address. All I could remember was your name and the way you introduced yourself each time at the beginning; maybe because even though my name is Demarys, from a little girl, my family has called me Mary; they still do. But not remember the addy didn't stop me from trying to find you. I had to.
I'm a person who deals on "personality." When I create and I share with someone about my craft, my love for what I do comes through in my voice and in my mannerism - "personality." (I'll even pay more or go farther for what I want because of the "personality" of the person I'm dealing with.) So I had to find you. I GOOGLED every possible phrase to get it to search for you. And then one day, it did. Talk about a happy somebody. I was extatic.
While each site I viewed offerred something useful, your videos had personality. Your tutorials are personably encouraging, leaving the listener "pumped" to try it for theirself.
Even when I don't have the cartridge you're demonstrating, there is still much to glean from your videos. I so love watching them and listening to you give instruction.
Thanks so much for the inspiration. It is because of you and a few others similar to you that I have come to appreciate what a great tool my Cricut really is.

My other question is why do you chose to chalk around some cards and ink around others? What is the different effects you are wanting to create? I assume the chalk is softer? Thanks

I am an Army Mom, my soldier is Lt. Mary Iskandarov. She just returned in November from a tour in Afghanistan. ReplyDeleteI'm a crafter. Until now mainly things dealing with fabric, mostly dolls and quilts. A few years ago, I tried scrapbooking but it didn't take, but found I loved making cards. Last year, hard as I tried not to, I purchased the Cricut Expression (that's its own story, lol). It stayed in the box for a couple of months.
When I realized the time had passed to return it, I figured I'd better begin searching the internet for inspiration to use it. Among the blogs I found with instruction / inspiration was yours. I was only able to view your videos for a short while because my computer crashed. And, by the time I was able to get another I honesly couldn't remember the web address. All I could remember was your name and the way you introduced yourself each time at the beginning; maybe because even though my name is Demarys, from a little girl, my family has called me Mary; they still do. But not remember the addy didn't stop me from trying to find you. I had to.
I'm a person who deals on "personality." When I create and I share with someone about my craft, my love for what I do comes through in my voice and in my mannerism - "personality." (I'll even pay more or go farther for what I want because of the "personality" of the person I'm dealing with.) So I had to find you. I GOOGLED every possible phrase to get it to search for you. And then one day, it did. Talk about a happy somebody. I was extatic.
While each site I viewed offerred something useful, your videos had personality. Your tutorials are personably encouraging, leaving the listener "pumped" to try it for theirself.
Even when I don't have the cartridge you're demonstrating, there is still much to glean from your videos. I so love watching them and listening to you give instruction.
Thanks so much for the inspiration. It is because of you and a few others similar to you that I have come to appreciate what a great tool my Cricut really is.

Oh, Mary you are so sweet. I visit here daily and enjoy every video. Since I started visiting your blog. I have enjoyed my cricut so much more. wow! i was excited thursday when i saw the cardboard box but imagine my excitement with the big reveal yesterday but i had to run before i could post! i have viewed many of your posts and have been a follower since i first found you! many of us owe it to you for what we have attempted in our crafting adventures! i am a visual learner and have someone demonstrate step by step is a huge opportunity...it's like having a friend over or even a private tutor come into my studio!
